Christmas Move

We hope you have enjoyed 2020 with Xenia students! It is now time to go home for the Christmas & the New Year break. We wish all students a safe journey home, the government has set a student travel window to take place the week after lockdown ends in England, from Thursday 3rd until Wednesday 9th December we advise students to stick to the government guidelines to get home safely, additional travel may be organised by your university. Please don’t forget to wear a face mask hopefully you have received your very own Xenia Student mask from us.

Seeing your Friends & Family:

Christmas will be very different this year due to the pandemic however, you can still see your friends & family. Up to three households will be able to meet up during a five day Christmas period the dates are the 23rd to 27th of December you can read the article from BBC News here. This gives us the chance to see our friends and family over the festive period.

Ideas over the Christmas break:

Build a gingerbread house:

Many supermarkets will sell a make your own gingerbread house kit around the holidays or you can find a recipe here. This is a great idea to get crafty at home, you can use candy canes, marshmallows and jellybeans to decorate the house.

Listen to Christmas songs:

Listening to classic Christmas songs will cheer you up and get you in the festive mood.

Watch Christmas movies:

We all have that favourite Christmas film that we put on repeat every year why not stick that on or check out some new films:

  • The Christmas chronicles,
  • Last Christmas,
  • Let it snow,
  • The knight before Christmas

Go for a walk:

Why not also meet one friend at a time for a walk this is allowed outside your household.

Decorate the Christmas tree:

One of the most important festive activities, decorating the Christmas tree and adding decorations in your home can create some lovely family bonding.

We hope you have a lovely Christmas & New year from Xenia Students!
